Looking for something that is easier to care for than typical stainless steel? Type 316 Marine Grade Matte Hand-Finished Stainless is the way to go. Are you dealing with pads on the bottom of your sink to protect it from scratches? I have a great solution.
I came up with an idea a many years ago. This new hand finish solves many problems and, as a side benefit, looks awesome! The end result looks exactly like Zinc - without the pitfalls of using Zinc for a sink our counter top. I am sure you are aware zinc is very soft and will dent easily and can warp out of shape easily. When you scratch this stainless finish, it is simple to remove the scratch at home and obtain the original finish. That process is impossible with the typical brushed stainless used in most sinks.
We buy unfinished stainless and apply our own finish - the last step we apply a hand rubbed finish using a Red Scotch Brite pad to achieve a soft matte rustic look on the stainless steel. Just buff out minor scratches and blend in with the original finish using the Scotch Brite pad I send along with every sink.
Warmer look than brushed stainless (looks much like zinc) This finish is not quite as reflective as brushed stainless - however it is the exact same color. It will look great with your existing stainless appliances. You can order a sample online. Read about the benefits of 316L Stainless and order samples if you like! Click on the images below and hold while sliding to the left to see all photos. We use only domestic (made in the USA) 16 gauge 316 Marine Grade Stainless Steel. If you want the easiest care stainless sink, consider getting a hand hammered sink. You can easily make it look brand new in less than 2 minutes using the Scotch Brite Pad we send with the sink. No need for protective grids for the bottom of our Matte Hand-Finished Stainless Sinks.

You would think this sink was made of Zinc, but it is my Matte Hand-Finished stainless. I introduced type 316 Marine Grade Stainless to all of our Matte Hand-Finished Stainless Sinks in May of 2018.

This is a Hammered Matte Hand-Finished Signature Series Apron Sink. This sink looks just like zinc. Pictures do not do this justice. Make sure you order a sample to see how beautiful this finish is. There is a tremendous amount of hand-work on a sink like this, but the end result is worth it!
This is a Matte Hand-Finished retro-fit top mount 33" by 22" single bowl sink that replaced an existing double bowl under mount sink.
